American Pasqueflower

Latin: Anemone patens

Pasqueflower is one of the first flowers to bloom in the spring, often coming up while there is still snow on the ground. Look for it on south facing slopes in dry to average sandy soil, typically in scattered clumps. It does very well as a garden plant (source).

Color: White

Blooms: April - Jun

Size: 6"

Soil: Dry

Sun: Sun

Habit: Grows on silky hairy stalks with a single white flower. This is a grassland species great for early spring blooms and groundcover thereafter.
